There’s a big problem in the L.O.Λ.E fandom right now thanks to this interview, which happens to be Jason’s first interview as a member of NU’EST-M.
Baekho was asked what he does to stay fit, and after giving the answer, he said that he wanted to lose some weight. As we all know Baekho seems to have issues with his confidence and body type. Even so, he never said he was fat.
The translator didn’t know how to translate his words, so she used the word “fat”.
None of the members seemed to understand this, but of course Jason did.
After a few questions, Jason was asked about his relationship with the members, immediatly Jason said they were all cute, especially Baekho, and he started to praise him.
It seems that Jason didn’t like the way the translator expressed Baekho’s words, and he wanted to give the chinese audience a better description of Baekho.
Jason never used the word “fat” to define Baekho.
Maybe it was a misunderstanding, or just a fan that didn’t like Jason from the begining, but we are called LOΛEs for a reason, right? So please, let’s give this adorable boy a chance to win our hearts.
You might be wondering where Kpop Music Monday is today, and honestly, we just weren’t able to muster up the energy to make one for today. We’ve had a crazy schedule lately between packing up and sending out our new hats and shirts, preparing for our exciting trip to Australia, Intern Leigh moving to Busan for school, and other personal things were are trying to fit around our work schedule.
So first off, regarding Intern Leigh: she is still a big part of the EYK Crew, but she initially moved to Korea to learn Korean, so her education comes first. She’s moving to Busan for a short time to attend school there, and we’ve all been running around preparing for Leigh’s departure this week. If any of you living in Busan happen to see someone who looks suspiciously like Leigh on your campus, give her a warm welcome, okay? We’ll be coming down to visit Leigh at some point and will have to have a EYK Crew WANK!
Regarding Australia, for those of you that haven’t heard, we’re coming to Australia from September 4th to September 10th! It’s going to be me, Simon, and Soozee (Leigh was invited but is attending school orientation). The first event is in Sydney on September 6th, 4:00PM, at the Korean Cultural Office. Then we’re heading to Melbourne to attend the 2013 KWave Festival at Federation Square on September 7th. We wrote more details about our trip to Australia here. We’re super hyped and we’re going to be vlogging while we’re there, so all you Aussie Nasties prepare to be on camera. The iPhone black bug of doooooom will return! Hahaha…along with Simon’s pervert stick. :|
And last, for Music Monday. Since we have to wait until Saturday midnight to find our the potential top three, we can’t start planning for Music Monday until at least Sunday, but we try to take one day off a week, which means we discuss, script, film, edit, and post KMM in just one day. It’s really reallllllly exhausting mentally and physically, so considering how drained we already are we decided it wouldn’t be enjoyable for you guise to watch an unenthusiastic KMM. Trust me, we’ve tried doing that before and you guise have noticed when we’re low energy and exhausted. However, I just wanted to take the time to talk about who were were going to do.
Both Simon and I were really disappointed with 2NE1’s latest song “Do You Love Me”. The video was refreshing since we don’t often see such raw footage for a kpop music video, however it still felt a little staged to me with a lot of forced super smiles and excessive happiness. Also, the song was kindof BLAHHHHHHHH. I’m really missing 2NE1’s old in-your-face blaring style, but I get that bands/song writers go through different stages in their careers. I think GD is currently my 2NE1 replacement with all his crazy antics, “Crayon” has really grown on me over the past couple months.
Anyways, the point isn’t to talk about 2NE1 or GD because we actually planned on doing NU’EST and their latest song “Sleep Talking”. Since we couldn’t film a review, I thought I’d take the time to talk about what I wanted to say here for those of you that are actually interested. If you haven’t seen “Sleep Talking” by NU’EST yet, you can check it out here
That’s right all you L.O.Λ.Es, you sky rocketed them into 1st place on the KpopCharts and we were finally going to review them and break the curse! However, I’m actually glad this isn’t the first review we’re doing on them because while I liked “Face” and “Action,” this music video for “Sleep Talking” just wasn’t my style, just like how “Not Over You” was also not my style. I feel like it would have super sucked for us to have finally reviewed NU’EST just to talk about how much we didn’t like this video, right guise? Guise? *scared*
Truthfully the only reason I don’t like it is because I dislike overacting in ANY Kpop video. SHINee’s “Hello”, T-ara’s “Yayaya”, Infinite’s “Man In Love” just to name a few, suffer from this overacting that Korean dramas seem to love. For some bizarre reason, B1A4 aka BILASA CONQUEROR OF KITTIES AND DEVOURERS OF TEENAGE GIRLS HEARTS have managed to bypass that for us…I think because they are crazy? We love crazy. *Spudgy gives crazy eyes*
Anyhoo, the song itself wasn’t bad, it was much more pop-like than their other songs which were a lot more serious sounding. The chorus is very catchy, and it was a super colourful music video with an interesting concept that I wasn’t bored watching. The changing sets were vibrant and Ren’s set especially was a very nifty artsy concept what with all the text furniture. I wanted to know what was going to happen at the end of the video BUT it was a disappointing ending with them just flailing around in bed as the woman just walks past them smirking. What?! Why!
First off lady, you look like you’re way too old for them. I don’t know if she is, buutttt……she doesn’t look their age. Just saying.
Secondly, why were you creeping in their dreams dressed like someone desperate to get married?
Thridly, why WERE you creeping in their dreams?
Fourthly, NU’EST why are you sleeping in full clothing, hats, shoes, and all? I doubt L.O.Λ.Es would protest seeing you guys in just boxer shorts and/or silk pajamas and/or just boxer shorts (haha) snuggling stuffed toy penguins.
Fifthly, can you say fifthly?
Sixthly…feels weird to say…the amount of violent pillow kicking and punching that occurred in the final scene did not match the amount of gentle violence we saw in their dreams state. Dream state: bop you on the head with some flowers and shove each other. Sleep state: knee you in the crotch and bi*atch slap each other.
I was seriously hoping to find out that some psycho-nurse was injecting them with sleeping meds or that they were secretly being kept as pets by a crazy fangirl…illa..who was injecting them with crazy drugs to keep them in a state of semi-rest. *narrows eyes at Fangurilla* Maybe I shouldn’t give that crazy girl any ideas.
Besides the ending, the dance for this video was actually really cool. That whole, linked together to form a kpop-man-bed was super funky and felt like a move break dancers might do. Whoa that sentence sounded really lame. Let’s read it again in a mom voice. “It felt like a move break dancers might do. Nifty!” Ugh. Point is, I liked the dance.
Final comment, Ren is seriously staring to out pretty many girls in the Kpop scene and I dare say he has taken the award for prettiest looking kpop idol I have ever seen knocking out Taemin (not to be mistaken as TaeMAN) and Jaejoong (aka Hero). I wait for the day we can call him RenMen and make him a song too. RENMEEEEEEN, RENMEEEEN!
And one more thing: since this week is going to be a bit of a clusterduck for us, with Leigh leaving on Tuesday and my getting my tattoo done on Wednesday, our schedule is going to be a bit thrown off, but we do have some other small videos as well as a special announcement happening soon :D
